With the wide application of computer, numerical analysis for the stability of underground caverns has played a more and more important role. With numerical method, complicated geologic condition, such as material's anisotropy and non-continuity, non-uniformity as well as complicated boundary condition can be considered. With FLAC-3D method, the deformation, stress and stability analysis for the underground plant of Gumption hydropower station are carried out in the dissertation. The main content is presented as the following:1. Theory for FLAC-3D is presented in the dissertation; meanwhile the supporting mechanism of anchor in rock mass with spring-block modeling is introduced in detail.2. Based on the FLAC-3D method, stability analysis is carried out for the underground caverns of Gumption hydropower station, which imitate the construction process. At the same time, the deformation, the stress and the distribution of the yield regions are evaluated.3. The supporting effectiveness of shotcrete, bar and prestress anchor in rock mass is implemented, moreover, the reasonable scheme of excavation and supporting is brined forward. The results provide a valuable reference for reasonable excavation & supporting the underground caverns.
