As the great western development strategy of china implementing, Chinese highway construction has been a rapid development, highway tunnels are increasing which becomes increasingly important for the study of stability of surrounding rock and optimization design of support especially for soft rock; The stability of Rock-supporting structure is a close contact and extremely important research component of highway tunnel design and construction, and it is a guarantee to security and economic of support structure parameters, but also to promote and develop in depth, and ensure the safe when tunnel is used, That is what need for in-depth study and exploration. The paper integrates the project-"Supporting Structure Optimization Study of Chongqing highway tunnel". Sticking to the evaluation of surrounding rock's stability of highway tunnels, in order to improve the overall level of the design and construction of highway tunnels, with the combination of qualitative and quantitative evaluation, integrate and local evaluation, the paper studies the surrounding rock-support's stability of tunnels systematically. Firstly the paper studies characteristic of mechanics and criterion of surrounding rock-support's stability for the highway tunnels and confirms criterion of surrounding rock-support's stability; Secondly, using the elastic-plastic plane FE method and finite element program GeoFBA-Ver406 on the dynamic numerical simulation of IV soft surrounding rock and V surrounding rock of the two-lane separation tunnel. Through analyzing the distributing law of displacement, stress in rock mass and support followed with tunnel construction, the author gets some conclusions, which is of guiding meaning for evaluation of stability and security in rock-support during construction of highway tunnels; Then through monitoring the experimental validation section of Yingzuiyan tunnel, analysis of rock deformation characteristics and stress changes of the tunnel lining; Finally, from comparative analysis of numerical and scene experimental validation of the two-lane highway tunnel, some conclusions and suggestions of the relevant problem are provided.
