According to FAW product development project, FAW R&D CENTER decide to design CA6DM2-42 heavy-duty diesel engine which displacement 11.04 liter for FAW's heavy-duty truck .Author take part in the project and charge of cranktrain design。In order to keep the engine reliability to the cranktrain system author completed the whole cranktrain system analysis. The detail content as follow:1,According to the crankshaft benchmark confirm the main parameter, then completed the crankshaft layout .2,Confirm the crankshaft balanceweight arrangement and calculate the ratio of the balance .The results showed the balance ratio is 60%,satisfied the design requirement3,Analysis CA6DM2-42 engine main journal bering and crankpin bearing, calculated oil film thickness,unit pressure,oil film pressure and friction loss.4,Fonding CA6DM2-42 engine cranktrain equivalent torsional vibration system and achieved the torsional stiffness by FEM calculation.The calculation result show the maximum torsional amplitude varied with running speed which in the acceptable range It also reveals the maximum torsinal stress 53Mpa which the torsional stress level is under the limit 60 Mpa for steel crankshaft.5,The cranshaft strength is perform with stess concentration factor determined by FEM calcilatuon.Basing on the result of concentration factor the most critical condition in the fillet area of crank threw 4 whose safety factor is 1.64 which higher than the upper limit 1.56,The crankshft pass the fatigue bending test and the fatigue bending moment is 5917N.m According to the standart of the test the safety factor is 1.84 which the value is a very safe.7,Measuring the maximum torsional amplitude on the engine test bed , the 6 order amplitude is 0.11。on the 1898 rpm which is very close to the calculation value.8,The cranktrain system parts show good after 2000 hours reliability test. After measured the crankshft,bearing wear lightly ,and the running situation is good.The all calculation process and result show the cranktain mian parameter and construction are appropriate.The engine pass the reliability test and running stituation good.
