The Yangtze River Bridge in Yichang is a combined structure composed of prestressed concrete continuous rigid frame and concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) flexible arch. Taking the Bridge as an instance, some problems on combined structure are discussed in this paper, and the results could be referential for the design and analysis of long span beam-arch combination system bridges. In this paper, on the concept of structural simulation for entire bridge, using the large-scale finite element software Dr.Bridge and MIDAS, in the view of the project of The Yangtze River Bridge in Yichang, a model of beam-arch composite bridge is constructed, in order to research some problems. The analysis of the internal force in the arch's construction and the influences to the bridge is introduced. The differences between different CFST theories'model and results are discussed. Through changing some variable parameters, the influence to the bridge is given and summarized, and the seismic response characteristics is studied by the time history analysis and the response spectrum analysis. Through the analysis we can find that, the fixing of steel tube on the bridge and the tension of the cable's influence to the bridge is evident; and the three CFST theories just have a few differences, but should carefully used in the design; the ratio of the rise to span and the stiffness ratio's influence to the flexible arch is obvious; in the response spectrum analysis of seismic response analysis, the normal stress is smaller than it created by live load, and the alteration of internal force in the time history analysis is big. In the design of beam-arch composite bridge, the theories and parameters should be carefully selected. The model should be exacted in the analysis so to make sure the results are precise. In this paper just a few works are done about the research of this style of bridge, there are also some problems such as shrinking and creeping should take advanced research.
