Permanent Magnet Brushless DC Motor (PMBLDCM), which has many good performances, such as simple structure and reliable running, is a kind of electromechanical products, and is used widely in the industry.Commonly, PMBLDCM consists of a permanent magnet synchronous motor, an inverter and a position sensor mounted on the motor shaft. The inverter drive signals are synchronized with the position sensor output signals so that synchronism between the stator winding currents and the rotor flux is ensured for any speed.In this paper, PMBLDCM itself and its drive system are the main research direction.Firstly, summarized and analyzed the advantage of PMBLDCM research, how PMBLDCM works and how to control it.Secondly, on the base of research on the own performances and the principle of PMBLDCM , focused on the designed of the system for PMBLDCM drive based on SCM------PIC16F877A; then experimentized and analyed.Thirdly, established dynamic simulation models of PMBLDCM by MATLAB/SIMULINK. Using the parameters from the experiment, simulated the PMBLDCM. The results testify the correctness and validity of simulation models; Then kinds of faults are simulated and analyzed.Fourthly, designing a sample of PMBLDCM using magnetic road analytical method and calculates motor parameters;Finally, by energy method, inductance of phase winding of permanent magnet brushless DC motor is derived, considering the effect of slot. Compared with FEM values, the calculation results are well-agrees. All this shows that the method is precise and available. Using this method, calculated the inductance of the above sample of PMBLDCM and motor performances. The results show the armature current is lower and the speed and torque are lower too, when considering the inductance parameter.
