The research in this paper is composed of two aspects: One is the FEA (finite element analysis) of static structural strength and modality of the high speed vehicle TPB; The other is the optimization of the layout of bottom suspension equipments for TPB.In the FEA of static structural strength and modality of the TPB bodyshell, as the structure of TPB bodyshell is comparatively complex and was made of large-scale hollow extruded aluminum alloyed sectional material, the structure was simplified properly and necessarily in the structural analysis. Some factors were also ignored which had little impact in the structural strength and modal computation of the TPB bodyshell. The structural strength and modality was analyzed by the popular software ANSYS. The results meet the Europe 9 Standard and International Union of Rail Ways Standard UIC566.The optimization of the layout of bottom equipments is based on the theories and methods of structural optimization. The optimizing software ISIGHT was used to drive software HYPERMESH and ANSYS to optimize and design the layout of bottom equipments. HYPERMESH was used to change the position of nine suspension equipments of TPB bodyshell and ANSYS to do the emulate computation for the model after being changed. ISIGHT will drive HYPERMESH and ANSYS keep altering the design variables in the circulation till it find the best solution which meets the requirements.The results have some referenced value for static structural strength and modal analysis of national high-speed train, as well as the further research and application in optimization of the layout of bottom suspension equipments.
