With the development of economy and improvement of the people living standard, the heating and air-conditioning become the common demand in the commercial and residential buildings. As the energy and environment problem has become the huge social problem, the Hybrid Ground-Source Heat Pump (HGSHP) systems, as an energy conservation and environment friendly technology, get more and more attention of people. In order to popularize and apply this technology better, the accurate and convenient design method of Hybrid Ground-Source Heat Pump Systems is needed, and the way to calculate the energy consumption of the whole system and confirm the most economical HGSHP systems becomes desirable. This thesis designs a common Ground-Source Heat Pump System and a Hybrid Ground-Source Heat Pump System for a given building located in a given region, analyzes and compares the economical quality of these systems.First of all, the hour by hour air-conditioning load of the building is calculated in a whole year by the DEST software. Being cooling load dominated, the building calculated in this thesis is an office building located in Jinan, and it is suitable for the HGSHP systems, which add the supplemental heat rejecter facility to the common Ground-Source Heat Pump Systems. Secondly, the mathematics modes have been established of the heat pump, vertical ground heat exchanger and supplemental heat rejecter, which are the essential parts of the HGSHP systems. The energy consumption of the whole systems is simulated in hour by hour basis.Thirdly, several designs with different capability of the vertical ground heat exchanger and supplemental heat rejecter for the same building are made, and their first investments and running costs are compared so that the most ecomonical configuration of the designs may be choosen. Different operation control stratiges of the system are also studied with the hour-by-hour energy comsumption simulation and economic analysis. Finally, the study has provided general methodology and advices for optimal design and operation of such HGSHP systems in this thesis.
