The riding comfort is one of the most important performances of vehicle. It can influence not only the feeling of passengers, but also the prevention of crash by avoiding making the driver tired, so it is paid more and more emphasis gradually. The traditional research method can not match the modern requirement of vehicles' research and development, so Virtual Prototyping Technology has been applied in many fields as a new industrial technology. This dissertation is mainly about the research of vehicle riding comfort based on ADAMS.This dissertation introduces the concept, evaluating indicator, evaluation method and the present status of vehicle riding comfort in detail. Then the key modules and the theoretical basis of ADAMS are introduced, which will be used in the following chapters. These theories are the base of subsequent model building and simulation analysis.The whole vehicle model is built in ADAMS/VIEW, it includes double wish-bone arm front suspension, single oblique arm rear suspension, rack-and-pinion steering system, simplified body and seat. The human model in sitting posture is built in LIFEMOD, merge the two models into one model, program the B-road with the method of superposition of harmonic waves, the road produced in this way is close to the real road, put the whole vehicle model on the above road, perform the simulation in three kinds of speed :60km/h, 70km/h, 80km/h, the vibration mode of human model comes out after simulation. Get the riding comfort evaluation by using the ADAMS/PPT to process the simulation results according to GB standard. The higher of the running speed and the rigidity of suspension, the worse of the riding comfort. Because this vehicle is sport utility vehicle, the rigidity of its suspension is high, as a result, its riding comfort is not good. In the purpose of raising the riding comfort on the premise of keeping the rigidity of the suspension, Add control force into suspension, the value of the control force is given according to fuzzy control policy, perform co-simulation based on ADAMS and MATLAB, get the riding comfort evaluation of the active suspension. The simulation result shows that the riding comfort of the active suspension with fuzzy control policy is much better than the passive suspension.
