Pulsating combustion has the merit of high combustion intensity, high combustion efficiency, high heat-transfer efficiency, low discharge pollutant, self-inspiration, compact configuration and less investment. Fluidized bed combustion is a comparatively mature and widely used technology. Based on the combination of pulsating combustion and fluidized bed combustion, the institute of Thermal Power Engineering of Zhejiang University had brought forward a concept of Rijke-type Self-pulsating Fluidized Bed. This thesis is devoted to the study of the combustion property, flue gas desulfurization property and drying property of this new combustion mode, which will help to consummate the Rijke-type Self-pulsating Fluidized Bed research work and enrich its studying threads and orientations.Firstly, the study work is proposed after the summarization of the study of the combustion property, flue gas desulfurization property and drying property of fluidized bed combustion, pulsating combustion and pulsating fluidized combustion in and abroad.Secondly, experiments on the combustion property of Rijke-type Self-pulsating are done under different conditions including different inaction bed height, different inlet ratio of air to PLG, and different burning region temperature. The experiment results show that the combustion efficiency of the Rijke-type Self-pulsating Fluidized Bed is very high, even if the inlet ratio is only 0.8~0.9, which can still achieve nearly 100%.Thirdly, experiments on the flue gas desulfurization property of Rijke-type Self-pulsating Fluidized Bed are carried out under different conditions including different proportion of Ca/S, different burning region temperature, different size of the desulfurization reagent and different initial SO2 density with pulsating or not. The experiment result indicates that the flue gas desulfurization property of Rijke-type Self-pulsating Fluidized Bed is similar to the fluidized bed combustion, but pulsating combustion can advance desulfurization of the fluidized bed.Finally, both experimental stduy and mathematical model pilot study on the drying property of Rijke-type Self-pulsating Fluidized Bed are executed. During this process, factors including inaction bed height, drying temperature, empty cross-section wind speed and size of the drying materiel are engaged in respectively, thin-layer models are used to simulate the drying experiment datum. Considering the effect of the pulsating combustion, some new thin-layer drying models, which are more compatible for the Rijke-type Self-pulsating Fluidized Bed drying character, are suggested. These new thin-layer models are useful for the Rijke-type Self-pulsating Fluidized Bed combustion applied to drying fluid.
