Compared with the traditional steel armor, the ceramic/FRP (fiber Reinforced Plastics) composite armor which has less area density can absorb more impact energy, so it has already been applied to many fields such as war industry and protection engineering. During digging and transportation for the chemical weapon abandoned by Japan, the personal protection is the important problem which must be solved. Aimed at 150mm red cannonball, the laminated shellproof board is developed in this paper. The fragment penetration model and the compound effect of fragment and shock wave model have been built to simulate the penetration process. The damage mechanism of the laminated shellproof board with the compound effect of fragment and shock wave is analyzed in the paper. Compared with the test results, the numerical simulation results are valid, and the protection performance of the laminated shellproof board can meet the demand. Our studies in the paper include the following several parts:1. According to the numerical results of blast effect of 150mm red cannonball and the bulletproof mechanism of the ceramic/FRP armor, the five projects of the laminated shellproof board are designed.2. Penetration test of the laminated shellproof board is carried out. And the best project of the laminated shellproof board is confirmed by analyzing the test results.3. Corresponding to the damage mechanism of ceramic and FRP, the numerical simulation penetration model of the laminated shellproof board is established, which can simulate the process of penetration. Combined with the test results, residual velocity curves of 7mm and 10mm ceramic targets are drawn up.4. Based on the ConWep blast model, the numerical simulation model of the laminated shellproof board with the compound effect of fragment and shock wave is developed to study the damage mechanism of the laminated shellproof board with the compound effect of fragment and shock wave.5. According to the test and numerical simulation results, the protection performance of the laminated shellproof board is evaluated, which can meet the demand of the protection of 150mm red cannonball. The achievement of this paper can make the suggestion for design and manufacture of the laminated shellproof board, which is very important to ensure safety of digging and transporting the chemical weapon abandoned by Japan.
