Since it is originated, the reinforced concrete structure has been widely applying to a lot of engineering fields owing to its many virtues. In the last decades, the reinforced concrete structure has dominated in the various of building structures, and its status cannot be substituted. Destruction or collapse of buildings under seismic loads will lead to immeasurable loss for human inhabitable and working environment, thus, the seismic loads generally become the control action for structural design. The most valuable researches come from those which investigated and studied the damages of the buildings after every earthquake because those are the most direct data.Aim at seismic solution of the reinforced concrete structure, the article has carried on the theoretical analysis for the damages under seismic loads and come up with the method of using hysteresis curve to reflect the structural damages. According to the dynamic analysis of the reinforced concrete structure with finite element theory, we discuss its seismic performance. The anticipated research results of this article have the significant reference value regarding structural seismic design and seismic defence, and provide a new way to check seismic damages of the structure. The main tasks of this dissertation are as follows:1. The article first systematically compares the well-known seismic research methods for the reinforced concrete structure, and discusses the existent problems and the applying range of these methods. Then we put forward a method of using hysteresis curve to reflect the structural damages. Because of its explicit physical meaning and its simpleness for use, the method avoids the complicated theoretic process and offers a convenient means for structural seismic design and seismic damage checking.2. Using ANSYS create the finite element model and input the different seismic waves, simulate seismic action to the model, and analyze the two dynamic responses of the reinforced concrete structure: one is damaged, the other is not. Comparing with the changes of the two, we can testify the method of using hysteresis curve to reflect the structural damages is proper and feasible.
