Qinghai-Tibet railway is from Xining to provincial capital Lhasa of Tibet, so far, it is the highest and the longest plateau railway in the world. Its construction is very important to the perfection of the west railway network, to the improvement of the economic development of the two districts, to the harmonization of the relationship between the Han nationality and the minority nationalities and the stabilization of the national defense of the south-west part as well as the entire Country.Qinghai-Tibet railway not only has the higher altitude, but also the natural environment is extremely arduous along the line, the geological structure is complicated extremely, the weather condition is very abominable, together with the freight volume is small and the following is the main act at first, so, it caused a lot of difficulties to the transportation organization. Aim at that, the research of this paper includes the following areas:1. Ge-La segment of Qinghai-Tibet railway attracts the passenger flow extremely after operating. Based on the analysis of the status of existing operation of the railway, this paper researches the degree of the attraction to the passenger flow, and forecasts the passenger flow with the grey model; in this paper, AHP (The Analytic Hierarchy Process) method also be used to distribute the social passenger capacity by transport mode, then, confirms the density of passenger flow of the zone; according to the practical marshalling of the passenger train in Qinghai-Tibet railway, it calculates the operating logarithm of the passenger, and then, devises the passenger train operation, and offers reference for the future operating. Moreover, this paper also analyses the seasonal passenger train operation briefly.2. Based on transferring passengers at Xining station, it associates with congruence theory, does research to reasonable departure time range of passenger trains, meanwhile, introduces the conception of reasonable following condition, and builds the algorithm model of reasonable departure time range of following passenger trains.3. Based on the operating of Qinghai-Tibet railway, the paper analyses the status of the freight transportation, in light of the present problem, it researches the principle of the freight flow organization in plateau.4. Analyses the status of the freight flow and merchandise resources along the line, then integrates with the predicted value of the freight volume, and researches the wagon flow of every section and the number of the local freight trains of zones, and then, it devises the freight train operation, and analyses the capacity of freight transportation. According to the relative stress capacity of Ge-La segment maybe in the future, this paper extracts concrete measures for enhancing the throughput capacity.
