Since the speed of wagon is increasing, the K6 bogie is mainly used in 70 T and above wagon, which has fit the requirements of high speed and heavy haul. Bolster bears and transfers different vertical, longitudinal and horizontal alternating load, and it needs a high fatigue reliability requirements as an important component of bogie. In the present, bogie bolsters are designed in accordance with the 'Railway Vehicle Identification Strength Design and Test Norms (TB/T 1335-1996)'. The regulations were formulated in 1990s, when both the load and speed of wagon are greatly different from the actual situation in China now. It is of great significance to add and perfect the design and test norms of the bolster. As a result, the following research has been done based on load spectrum tested on the actual railway:1. Load spectrum of center plate and side rolling has been made according to dynamic stress date tested on the actual railway using rain-flow count2. Reference AAR maintenance, the S-N curve of B Steel Bolster has been fitting3. The finite element analysis of K6 Bogie Bolster was done and the fatigue weak positions of bolster have been identified.4. The fatigue life of the bolster has been predicted respectively under load spectrum tested in actual railway and reference AAR, according to the nominal stress method and the miner principle of linear cumulative damage. When comparing the two results, the method used in this paper to predict fatigue life of bolster is of feasibility for they were similar. However, the life is lower gotten under the load spectrum tested in actual railway than the actual situation, which reflects that the railway which is chosen in the test is inclement...
