With the number of automobile and road length increasing,thing of traffic safety of the highway is very grimness. As a general road alignment in the highway,curl road has become a bottleneck in highway safety level improvement. So it is imperative to carry out specialized studies for it. In recent years,some studies have been developed in many countries. But study it as a system,which still doesn't begin in China.This dissertation is supported by science and technology project of west traffic construction by Ministry of Communications "Forest Tourism Highway--Traffic safety Research on S203 Line of Inner Mongolia". On the base of the author's study,combines the worldwide studies of traffic safety,this paper studies the problems of traffic safety characteristics of curl road of highway. The dissertation develops a series of works according to traffic safety characteristics, which contents as followed:(1) The introduction analyses the trend of traffic accident and grim position of curl road of highway. In this background,it gives the research significance and research problem. At last it gives the framework and research content of this dissertation.(2) The research on the accident stat. data of highway curl road and accident dynamics is the base of dissertation. The macroscopically traffic safety characteristics and key effect factors of curl road safety are researched by analysis on the accident stat. data of curl road. At last,the research content of microcosmic safety characteristics are given based on the key effect factors.(3) This dissertation study on vehicle stability using accident mechanics and dynamics method. Then relevant conclusions are given by above study.(4)The research on driver's psychological and physiological reflection characteristics is the emphases of this dissertation. This part mainly research on the relationship between the heart rate of driver and radius of curve,as well as the blood pressure of driver and radius of curve,and relevant conclusions are given at last.(5) The research on vehicle's speed and acceleration characteristics is the emphases of this dissertation. At first,this part gives the relationship between vehicle's speed and traffic safety based on previous research results. At second, the distribution of vehicle's speed and change characteristics of vehicle's acceleration is given by analysis on experiment data.(6) The research on vehicle running track character is the emphases of this dissertation. At first,the data of key points of track is gained by analysis on experiment data. At second,vehicle running track is fitted using cubic spline interpolation. At last,the change law is given by comparative study on track. In addition,this dissertation put forward the concept of track-cross regional,and carries on a comparative study of it.
