Along with the cosmopolitan development of the automobile industry, each national automobile industry is facing unprecedented impetuousness challenges, put forward a higher demand at the dissipation of energy ,efficiency ,cost ,loop protect ,velocity and so on. Treated as the power heart, the manufacturing quality of the automotive engine directly influences the product performance capability and the reliability. The camshaft is the main part of the engine gas admeasuring and driving outfit, with complex structure, unbalanced load and the high precision. So the manufacture of the camshaft is particularly important in the whole automobile industry.The assembled camshaft is original in conception and economy in operating, breached the localization of the material, design and the manufactory logos. It's an essential change in traditional design and manufacturing engineering. It's the new breach of the camshaft manufacturing engineering, which is adjusted the trend of nowadays global automobile industry development.The knurling jointing method has predominance in simple joint technics and equipment, steady technics, small dissipation of energy, high dimensional accuracy and joint reliable. Taken the knurling jointing method to produce camshaft has peculiar technical superiority. Research and design an automation equipment which precise completed the connective of the assembled camshaft end socket, has an important action for the following design and research on the NC assembling machine for the knurling assembled camshaft. The researched contents are special items of tackling key problem of national science and technology"the 10th five-year plan"and developing northeast old industry base, and so on. The main work had been done as follows:1. The total design of the equipmentAccording to the properties of the knurling jointing process, the structure of the automation equipment for the knurling assembled camshaft end socket is totally designed. It is confirmed that the monolithic construction design of the equipment and the process flow. The main machine tool body of the automatic equipment for the knurling assembled camshaft end socket is rebuild by the engine lathe. The mechanism system consists of the main shaft transmission system, the ball screw transmission agent, the three point symmetry knurling system and the assembling press machine.As for CA488 engine camshaft, the analysis for the assembling flow is done. According to the design project for the total structure of the assembling machine and the assembling flow of the camshaft, the mechanism system of the assembling machine is designed totally. The structure sketch of the machine and the main parameters are confirmed and the driving and performing components for the sectional systems of the mechanism system are confirmed.2. The factors which influence the occluding and knurling jointing are analyzed, analyzed the influence which is based on the experiment and ascertained the main technical details of knurling jointing method. The designing of the assembling press machine and the hydraulic pressure systemDesigned the assembling press machine of the automation equipment for the knurling assembled camshaft end socket, the power actuator of the assembling press machine is selected. To make the equipment realized the automatic performance function after design, programmed the actuating members and selected component part of the hydraulic pressure system.
