China's continuous urbanization process makes urban culture face with a severe threat. In urban development and construction process, how to those who have cultural and historical value of the things preserved and incorporated into the new spirit of the times is a very important task. With 3D computer graphics technology development, It is possible that retaining outstanding historical buildings as models in the digital environment. 3D digital model of the building can richly, visually record the location of buildings, architectural styles. The records of the building can provide detailed and comprehensive information for protection and renovation work. The establishment of a perfect texture for building a 3D modeling of the building is the first and foremost step. With reasonable texture database, the model can be more realistic, more greatly increase the efficiency of modeling. Therefore, how to establish a texture is the main content of this paper. This paper, taking Wenyuan building of Tongji University as an example, researches how to use digital close-range photogrammetry for outstanding historical building texture acquisition. Focused on the 3D digital simulation technology and the development of digital photogrammetry technology, It introduces the operations of database establishment; also deduces the corresponding method to calculate geometric attributes of texture according to the semi-measurement camera and non-measurement camera, and uses examples to demonstrate the feasibility of above method. The paper also sets up the correct texture model, and uses SQL Server 2000 to establish texture database. In the finality, the problems met in this paper and further studies required are discussed.
