Base on summarizing the development state of skew slab bridge, the research content of this dissertation has been determined. Based on the highway lane loading model which was defined in the new code named "General Code for Design of Highway Bridges and Culverts" , the finite element method of space slab shell programmed in Ansys Parameter Design Language(APDL) is adopted to analyze the elastic properties. By calculating the internal force influence surface of skew slab bridge, the internal force-controlling section is attained. The loading program, by which the load can be directly applied to the internal force influence surface, is generated and used to get the result of loading on the influence surface. The study analyzed the vehicle load effects based on the old code and the new code. The effects of the key parameters were analyzed. Through comparing the result of loading on the internal force influence surface of skew slab bridge with the one of the perpendicular bridge, the reduction factor method is offered and its corresponding reduction factor can be obtained. A typical skew slab bridge was analyzed by the finite element method and by the simply calculation method of Japan, this example validated the security and applicability of the new method. The study also compared the mechanics characteristics of integral skew slab bridge and the assembly skew slab bridge. The practical calculation method for assembly skew slab bridge was recommended, then a typical assembly skew slab bridge was analyzed by the finite element method, the results validated the security and applicability of the calculation method which was recommended by Zhenkun Xi. Through analyzing the mechanical behavior under the uniform load of continuous skew slab bridge, some design recommendations was given.In the end, some conclusions of this study were giver, and the work will done in the future was discussed.
