As a rising material, Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer has been widely used in strengthening of structures because of its high-strength, light characteristics, good durbaility and corrosion resistance and convenience in constructions. But in the field of reinforcement of old bridge, it is still being studying. The primary purpose of this paper is to put the study of the application of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer sheets in flexural strengthening of RC beams to the practical use in reinforcement of old bridge. Through concluding the formula of the flexural strengthening of usual concrete T-type beam, concrete I-type beam and rectangular beam, I educe the method and process of the application of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer sheet in reinforcement of old bridge. In this paper, according to the reinforcement of the YingZhuang bridge with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer sheet, I particularly introduce the process of the calculating and design of flexural reinforcement of the bridge, the method of construction and the quality criterion. I also compare the result of the static-loading test of the YingZhuang bridge before and after reinforced to analyze the effect of the application of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer sheet in strengthening. Finally, I make simulations of the static-loading test of the YingZhuang bridge before and after reinforced with Finite Element Software ANSYS, validate the effect of the application of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer sheet in strengthening.
