The deflection is one of the most important parameters of bridge. This parameter reflects the health of bridge. Hence, many effective methods were put forward to measure the deflection by engineers. Among these methods for the deflection measurement of long span bridge, a measurement instrument of communicating pipe enjoys a good comment, as much measuring points, and weak influence by the surroundings environment. However, this method still exists many disadvantages, such as manual measurement, low accuracy, slow speed and so on. In order to meet the demands of long-term on-line, automatic measurement, we need to improve this method. Therefore, the designation of the automatic measurement, wireless data transmission of the bridge's deflection measuring system is of an important theoretical meaning and practical value.According to the characteristics of the measurement of the deflection, ODSL 8/V4-400-S12-laser sensor, which was made in Germany, was selected. Besides, STC 89LE58 RD+ singlechip, which completed the data collection and processing, was adopted as the processor for this measuring system. Inorder to achieve the goal of wireless data transmission, the G200 GPRS module was utilized. After solving a number of hardware and software problems, a bridge deflection measurement system was finally built up. Lots of experiments were carried to validate the performance of the system.To our satisfaction, the testing results demonstrated that this system is convincing, and accurate.
