In recent years, co-firing of coal and biomass was thought to be the new technology on the usage of regeneration energy. As the method of sufficient use of energy and pollutant emission control, it was meaningful to investigate the co-firing of coal and biomass which was the 4th energy source in the world.Based on the 400t/h tangential boiler, the software of FLUENT was used to simulate the temperature field, the distribution of each species concentration field and NOx concentration distribution when co-firing coal and biomass( wheat straw, maize straw and wood dust) which was under the different ratios. The results of calculation and numerical simulation showed that the emission of CO2, SO2 , NOx and fly ash could be declined in the co-firing. But at the same time, the decrease of temperature and combustion efficiency in the boiler and the increase of H2O which was one of the important greenhouse gas were caused. According to the comparison of all the results, it was concluded that the ratio of biomass should be controlled into 10% and the wood dust was the best one among the three biomass which was investigated in this paper.
