Boiler combustion is a very complex process. There are many influencing factors in combustion stability. According to combustion mechanism of pulverized-coal, this paper analyzed the key factors to the boiler combustion stability. In this paper a method of solving uncertainty problem—Dempster-Shafer evidence theory was applied to combustion stability judgement model construction from the view of the information fusion. Take the layout of thermodynamic measuring points in the power plant into consideration, it chose coal, load, furnace negative pressure, the coal powder's concentration, flame detecting signal, primary air temperature, primary air flow and primary air flow rate as evidences of Dempster-Shafer evidence theory, and gave basic pro bability assignment of each evidence through membership function of fuzzy mathematics. Finally, the model was tested by 72-hour data from the power plant. The result showed that this model can judge the boiler combustion stability accurately.
