The water environmental impact is one of the important parts of environmental impact assessment of hydropower project. Carrying out water environmental impact assessment is an important mean and effective measure for achieving sustainable development in water conservancy, for making the decision-making more scientific and democratic and for improving economic and social benefits. By taking surface water environmental impact forecast evaluation of the Luding Hydropower Station as the research direction, and through on-the-spot investigation and data collection, hydrology and water quality of the Luding Hydropower Station's water environment are inspected in detail; through construction analysis of the Luding Hydropower Station project, all primary factors of pollution are obtained; by using existed environment assessment methods and the technologies, hydrology, water temperature, water quality, local climate, etc., of the Luding hydroelectric power station are scientifically forecasted and assessed; finally protective measures for water environment of the Luding Hydropower Station are proposed in view of construction period and operation period.Main achievements of this dissertation are as follows:1. Before identifying the objectives of water environment treatment of the Luding Hydropower Station Environment Project, a great deal of survey is made for water resources status of Dadu River Basin. Combined with the actual situation of Luding Hydropower project, water environment treatment objectives and schemes of this project are determined;2. Based on the specific conditions of water environment of Luding hydropower station, all the factors and status such as water environment, natural environment and social environment are considered. Through information consultation, field surveys, forecasting models and determination and recognition of formula, and according to the importance of the impact and the feasibility of quantitative analysis, key indexes of the water environmental impact assessment of hydropower projects are determined.3. Through the application of water environmental analysis and prediction theory, forecast and evaluation methods for hydrology, water temperature and water quality of Luding Hydropower are identified. And the goal of the water environment forecast of Luding Hydropower Project is to protect and improve the water environment while its main engineering and technical efficiency is improving water quality.4. On the basis of comprehensive analysis of environmental impact for the construction of Luding Hydropower Station in all aspects, water environmental protection measures and methods are put forward for this hydropower project. This plays an important role in the decision-making of engineering project by the decision-maker, and provides technical support for construction management unit in conducting assessment and decision-making of relevant projects.5. This research goes through all aspects of planning, designing and evaluation of environment and hydropower project of the Luding Hydropower Station, and proposes a series of practical ways and measures and good results are obtained. The results of this research provide meaningful references and basis for the design and construction of similar projects.
