As the center of politics,culture,economic of China, also along with the 2008Olympic Game will take in Beijing, the traffic problem more and more thorny. Tosolve the Beijing traffic problem, the government takes lots of plan, such as improvethe traffic manage lever,change the traditional traffic mode. Take the traffic systemunder the ground lever is a effective method, for it not only solved the Beijingradioactive cycle rapid traffic,speed up the round range contact with the center, butalso a reasonable use of the underground space. In addition the underground roadwould not destroy the environment of the distribution of the city. The urban tunnel is atraffic mode except subway system which began more and more common in China.In the using of the urban tunnel, the environment in the tunnel is the mostimportant question. The harmful gas such CO,NO X which is exhausted by the busthat running in the tunnel will effect the people. If we would not ventilate the tunnel,it will take affect of the regular use of the tunnel.The ventilation and the pollutant control is a complex problem. It involvesindustry ventilation,aerodynamics,NHT,hydrodynamics,traffic engineer,pollutanttransverse. This study focuses on the ventilation and pollutant control in urban tunnelsof Beijing. By inspection the typical urban tunnel's design and running; combine theresearch result and the design code, we make analyses and studies on the basicmasteries,the pollutant control standards and the major pollutant disperse volume.Then based on the pollutant transverse law, the article builds the pollutant transversemode in the tunnel. At last, the position effect was discussed. Combined with a realproject the study analyzed on the formation mechanism and the characters of positioneffect by using CFD method. By the research result nature ventilation was discussed.The study could take solve method for Beijing urban tunnel of the pollutant control.
