| The shear strength calculation of reinforced concrete members is a problem that hasn't been solved very well. In this paper, in order to solve the problems exist in the current code in shear strength calculation, a study of the shear strength calculation of reinforced concrete beams under concentrated load had been given based on the current shear strength researches. The main contents are as follows:(1) Based on the analysis of the shear failure mechanism in reinforced concrete beams, a discussion on the shear performance of reinforced concrete beams under concentrated load had been given. A research on shear models of reinforced concrete beams with web reinforcement had also been given.(2) According to the experimental data of reinforced concrete beams under concentrated load collected from home and abroad, main facts affected the shear strength had been studied and the relationship between the main infection facts and the shear strength had been given.(3) Formulas to calculate the mean shear strength of reinforced concrete beams without web reinforcement had been established expressed with different concrete strength indexes, then a formula with 95% guarantee rate to calculate the shear strength of reinforced concrete beams without web reinforcement had been given. Consider the effect of the web reinforcement, a formula to calculate the shear strength of reinforced concrete beams with web reinforcement had been established. And then an example had been given.(4) A comparison of design methods, design prescribe and calculation results in shear strength of reinforced concrete members is studied between Chinese and ACI 318 M-05 design codes. Some problems exist in Chinese current code in shear strength calculation had been pointed out. |
