Steel structures, which were considered having excellent performance and seismic resistance, were widely used in high-rise structures. The performance of beam-to-column connections is the key to impact the overall performance of structure. Recently analysis of force performance of beam-to-column connections was widely studied home and aboard, but research mainly concentrated in the flange connection, and the research on web connections has only a small number of pilot studies and theoretical analysis.The dog-bone connection is a new type connection which carried out to aim at the shortcoming of traditional steel moment connection based on the analysis of beam-to-column web connections. to have an imitation analysis by using ANSYS FEM software, considering nonlinear material, nonlinear geometry, contact nonlinear, bolts pretension and the contacts slip on bolts, using Mises yield rule and multi-linear hardening model to analyze the new type connections systematically. The main contents and fruits as follows:To compare the force performance of beam-to-column web connections in dog-bone style with the traditional beam-to-column web connections, the result shows: compared with the traditional beam-to-column web connections, the decreasing of integrity rigidity and strength of beam-to-column web connections in dog-bone style is low, but the flexibility increased dramatically, efficiently improved the performance of the connections. The hysteretic curves are stable, and show well plastic deformation ability which can be considered as the ideal seismic energy dissipating pattern.Based on beam-to-column web connections in dog-bone style, the range of the weakened position of flange beam from a distance to columns a, the length of weakened position b and depth of weaken parts c, beam section and column section, all these parameters are analyzed to get the impact of force performance to the beam-to-column web connections in dog-bone style, and seismic design proposals are put forward. Finally using the orthogonal design in mathematical statistics to analyze the weaken parameters a, b, c impact of the sequence to the beam-to-column web connections in dog-bone style, and have design optimization.
