With the economy developing of offshore areas and the marine resources exploitation in nearshore, the demands for energy grow day by day, rapid development of thermal power and nuclear power have brought many thermal pollution problems, it is necessary to forecast actuarially the thermal pollution degree and range based on knowing the current field and the temperature field. In this thesis, numerical flow model and cooling water transportation model based on triangular mesh and Finite Volume Method are applied to simulate the current field and temperature field, for providing scientific basis for the design of water intake and outlet, and environmental impact assessment invoked by the cooling water. Below are the main research results:(1) The horizontal two dimension flow model was applied to verify the processes of tidal level and current, and the characters of current field on engineering sea area were analyzed, the simulation results coincide with observation data fairly well, which indicated that the flow field simulated is reasonable, and the nested method in thesis was feasible.(2) The three dimension flow model was also applied to verify the processes of current, the verification results showed that the three dimension model can simulate the current field on engineering sea area rationally.(3) The three dimension transportation model was applied to simulate the temperature field after the power plant, the simulation results provided scientific basis for the design of water intake and outlet.
