The present research comprehensively reports the studies on the improvement of alkaline batteries.The first part was on the preparation of nano Bi(OH)3,XRD,TEM,TG-DSC and IR were used to characterize the structure and properties of nano Bi(OH)3.discharge and cycling properties of Bi(OH)3 and dope modification of Bi(OH)3 to discharge and cycling properties of MnO2 were then studied.In the second part,Spheric NiOOH and nano NiOOH were prepared through oxidizing spherical Ni(OH)2 by highly concentrated mixture of NaClO-NaOH.The result shows that the size and dispersibility of Ni(OH)2 is the key factor for synthesis of NiOOH.The optimal synthetic condition was obtained by studying the influence of reaction time to the size and dispersibility of NiOOH.Structure characterization of the sample was gained by means of chemical analyse,scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffractrometry.The charge/discharge aud cyclic voltammetry tests of the prepared NiOOH express good electrochemical reversibility.
