USM (Ultrasonic Motor) is a new-type motor,which uses the converse piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric ceramic excited by ultrasonic vibration, using elastomer resonance amplification, through a friction coupling to generate rotating movements or linear motion. At present, the most representative ultrasonic motor is the rotary-type traveling wave ultrasonic motor, its distinguishing feature including low speed, high torque, can be used to directly drive, simple structure, electromagnetic compatibility, good power, and self-locking function etc. It is particularly applicable to small (micro) type of device driver and minutely control, particularly in the aerospace, medical, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), which has a broad application at the field sensitive at magnetic or the field with requirements of high positioning accuracy. Based on the finite element analysis, this paper deeply studied the stator of small wave-type ultrasonic motor.First, a brief introduction to the wave-type ultrasonic motor structure and working principle, including the piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric ceramic, performance description of the wave of stator, the particle movement of stator surface, as well as the formation of elliptical motion about the particle of the stator surface. Based on the nature of ultrasonic motor-driven approach, study the ultrasonic motor drive mechanism, and, at the point of view of energy, Three-dimensional mathematical model of traveling wave-type ultrasonic motor was analyzed in detail, and then explore the friction drive model of the ultrasonic motor.Introduced in the applications of finite element analysis software ANSYS Workbench at the design process of ultrasonic motor stator; through changing the parameters of the structure of the ultrasonic motor stator, using the finite element analysis software ANSYS Workbench analysis the natural frequency of vibration effects at different parameters on the structure of the stator, and then select the final structural parameters of the stator with the best frequencies correspondly, achieving the purpose of optimizing the stator structure, as a powerful reference for ultrasonic motor stator design.Finally, adopted the simulation analysis above, summed up the advantages and weaknesses of the Methods of structural optimization, and then direction of future research requirements and expectations.
