SF6 gas was widely used in high voltage engineering as a good electrical insulation dielectric.It has been restricted to use because SF6 is one of greenhouse effect gas.This thesis mainly focuses to investigate the electric performance of insulating spacers in SF6,N2 and Synthetic Air.The electrode system and spacers samples used in the test have been developed.A proper schedule has been concluded based on the large number of trial tests,and than the flashover voltage of test samples(with/without conducting particle)in different gases,pressures,voltage waveforms are obtained.Base on the test results,the flashover voltage of insulator varies little when particle length is less than 2mm;with the increase of gas Pressure, the flashover voltage has a saturation or decrease tendency;electric performance in SF6 is more complicated than that in N2 and Synthetic Air,it will be more affected by voltage waveform and particle length.
