The construction of expressway is developing rapidly in our country recently. Expressway plays as an important role in the process of the economy and society's development. However, the pollution brought by the automobile has a lot of negative effect on the environment alongside the expressway. Especially for those toll collectors working in the booth, they suffer from the noise, gases and so forth deeply for their special work property. The most serious of the aspects is the gas pollution, which can arouse the occupational disease.Personalized Ventilation System, as one of the new techniques in the air-conditioning area, wins the attention broadly from both the native and abroad. The effect of it in both saving energy and ameliorating IAQ is recognized in the field. A number of academic institutions have ever done some work already, but we still lack specific experimental conclusion in the necessity and applicability of its use in definite environment.In this article, it's discussed that the project of using PV technique to improve the IAQ in the expressway's toll-booth, and the design configuration along with the running parameter are also discussed. We assess the IAQ in the booth which equip the PV system in order to give the guidance in the project application and design. The situation, distribution and diffusing rule of the pollution in and out the booth were analyzed and assessed. And then, we devised equipment for controlling the toll-booth's IAQ, built an model to simulate and assess the system. The optimum run parameters and the effect in restraining the pollution was studied based on the experimental result and the simulated data. The result shows that the PV system can shorten the air age effectively, improve the ventilation efficiency and improve the IAQ in the breath-zone of the staff. The subjective experiment shows that PV system can improve the comfort and the acceptability. It also shows that the system's restraint effect to the pollution's incursion from experiment, for it can create a positive pressure in the booth.
