Absorption heat transformers(AHT)are devices for increasing the temperature ofmoderately low grade waste heat to a more useful temperature level.AHT doesn'tneed high grade useful heat energy,so utilizing absorption heat transformer to recovergeothermal waste heat can be a promising method for heat recovery. In this paper, thethermodynamic cycle of the LiBr/H2O AHT system and properties of the working pair(LiBr/H2O)were studied, then a lumped parameter model of the system was set up.Acomputer program was compiled to calculate this model.By analyzing the effects ofmajor work-condition parameters on the design of the AHT system,a scheme of usingLiBr/H2O AHT system to recover geothermal waste heat for district heating in winterwas carried out.And a 10kW experimental LiBr/H2O AHT unit was designedaccording to the heat recovery scheme.Simultaneously,a numerical simulation of thedesign was carried out to predict the operating characteristics and performance of theexperimental system under different work conditions.A software was compiled tomake the analysis of the AHT system more convenient, and a software for dataacquisition of the experiment was also compiled using Visual C++6.0.The work thatthis paper had done was well prepared for the experimental works and the comparisonbetween the experiment and the theoretical analysis afterwards.
