Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) has many advantages in the motor driving system of electrical vehicle because of its excellent performance, such as small cubage, great power density and high efficiency. With the development of the power electronics apparatus and high-speed micro-processor, control theory and industrial applications of PMSM have gradually improved. The driving system of PMSM will have a wonderful future in many domains.Based on studying many kinds of references, we grasp the vector control theory of PMSM. The research on the flux-weakening control is made from two aspects: rotor flux orientation and air-gap flux orientation. Then, a novel flux-weakening control method for the PMSM is proposed. It is implemented based on the outer voltage regulation loop which regulates the phase angle of current leading EMF in order to prevent the saturation and uncontrollable status of the current regulator. This flux-weakening scheme realizes constant torque operation below based-speed and constant power flux-weakening operation above based-speed, guarantees correct current regulation under any operation condition, and achieves smooth and fast transition into and out of the flux weakening mode. The main contents of this thesis are as follows: firstly, based on the dq mathematical model of the PMSM, this dissertation analyzes the principle of the flux-weakening and discusses the impact of the saliency ratio (ρ) and flux-weakening ratio (ξ) on the flux-weakening performances, then presents a new method which called current lead angle flux-weakening control for PMSM based on PI current regulator. Furthermore, in this thesis the air-gap flux orientation for flux-weakening control is analyzed and a block diagram of the control system is given. Secondly, by using the emulator tools of MATLAB/SIMULINK, the results of simulations indicate the feasibility and validity of this new scheme. Finally, the digital control system based on DSP of TMS320LF2407 is introduced. In addition the software is brought forward about current lead angle flux-weakening control for PMSM and some flow charts are also presented.
