The separate and incorporated structure-spanning-structure are two infrastructures of story-adding in practice. Because separate structure-spanning-structure is the same as general building, its seismic design method can refer to the related Chinese codes, but it is difficult to find some specific codes for the incorporated one. However, the separated infrastructure is still restricted in using because of its inherent drawbacks, such as the oversized bottom columns, high cost and the large occupation. Although incorporated infrastructure can overcome previous weaknesses, due to its complicated performance under stress, there is no systematic experimental study and theoretical analysis for its seismic behavior, calculative model and seismic designation in china.On the previous background, ETABS and SATWE are applied to analyze the dynamic and seismic behavior of the separate and incorporated structure-spanning-structure. The results can be validated through time-history analysis. Making good use of the potential of the existing building, it can be concluded that the incorporated infrastructure is better than the separate one.Through further comparison of different plan, analyzing the internal and external factors could be analyzed to the incorporated structure-spanning-structure system. The internal factors include the outer-jacketing structure, the existing building and the connecting-rod. The external factor is the site. The results show that the structure system and lateral stiffness of the new building have very significant influence on the collaborative work, but the shear force of the existing building distributed on each floor is opposite. At the same time, stiffness and connection of the connecting-rod also can influence the performance of the incorporated infrastructure. Then in use of EPDA, we can know the behavior of the incorporated infrastructure under rare seism through analyzing the shear force and displacement angle. The weaknesses can be also found through analyzing the position and generate order of plastic hinges. All of these can provide the valuable project experience for the future.
