when concrete column is confined with CFRP, the load-carrying ability and aseismic performance are greatly improved In addition, CFRP has a good character of electromechanical property, which is the change of CFRP electric resistance is intimately relative to the break extent of CFRP. According to monitoring the change of CFRP electric resistance, it can directly reflect the stress condition of CFRP. For the concrete component confined with CFRP, we could not only make use of its predominate mechanical character to improve load-carrying ability of concrete, but also utilize its electromechanical property to monitor the change of electric resistance, consequently monitor the damage extent and the damage location of concrete. So the high strength concrete enwrapped with CFRP possessing self-damage monitoring property is formed.Based on the predominat mechanical property and electromenchanical propety of CFRP, the main content of the paper is following:(1) Through the loading experiment of high strength concrete prism specimen confined with CFRP under cyclic loading, the stress and strain curves of high strength concrete confined with CFRP is studied, according to comparing the envelope curves under cyclic loading with the stress and strain curves under monotonic loading, the rule of loading on and off curves is formed.(2) Through the monitoring results of CFRP electric resistance, the stress character is analyzed, the distributed feature of CFRP stress along circle, the relationship between the change ratio of electric resistance and lateral strain under cyclic loading is studied, and the damage extent coupled with damage location of concrete inside are also qualitatively described.(3) Through the pseudo-static test of CFRP confining high strength concrete column after damage, the seismic performance and monitoring results of CFRP are studied, it is disclosed that the dissipative property and damage extent, the relationship of between the change ratio of electric resistance and lateral strain. So the theoric study of CFRP confing high strength concrete afrer earth is found.
