The geomagnetic navigation technology involving with micro magnetic sensor, geomagnetic map and multi characteristic matching technology in many fields, is one of new independent navigation methods, has the all-weather, all-region, small volume, small power consumption and inexpensive characteristics , and has the notable application potential. This paper has designed and achieved geomagnetic sensor, researched the geomagnetic field and the matching methods. The geomagnetic navigation is a method which is based on geomagnetic map. To measure the instantaneous magnetic field and matching the magnetic information with the geomagnetic map stored in the carrier computer, we obtain the position of carrier.Firstly, the reason of the giant magneto-impedance (GMI) effect in the amorphous wire is analyzed in this paper; the theory of GMI effect is mainly researched, and the quantificational connections among impedance, exterior magnetic field and frequency are given, the other factors of GMI are also analyzed; on the basis of theory research, the model of GMI is obtained, and the GMI characteristics of the amorphous wire is predominated by model simulating.Secondly, combining the GMI characteristics of the amorphous wire, the magnetic field measuring set which based on GMI effect is designed and realized, the set is tested in the geomagnetic and zero-magnetic space respectively, the GMI curves are obtained. Then the testing results are researched and analyzed, the principal parts of the amorphous wire senor are predominated, and it is also found that the anticipative effect is reached.Finally, the characteristics of geomagnetic model and elements are researched, the geomagnetic map is given by analyzing the Gauss model in normal terms; the methods of magnetic field measuring and geomagnetic characteristics choosing are researched; the geomagnetic navigation marching scheme is given; then on the basis of geomagnetic map, the combined navigation of INS and geomagnetic field is simulated using ICCP arithmetic, and receives the better effect.
