At present, the current source inverter receives people more and more attention by its noticeable superiority. The current source inverter topology and it's control technology already became some expert's discussion and the important research topic. And in the AC variable frequency speed, reactive power system, harmonic suppression, solar energy, wind power generation and other field, current source inverter has very good development and the application prospect. This paper studies the three-phase current source inverter's PWM control method emphatically.This paper through carrying on basic analysis and comparison about ac variable frequency speed and the voltage source inverter's research present situation and the control method, has studied the current source inverter's topology, the principle of work and the essential feature. In the foundation of carrying on deep research analysis to trapezoid PWM control work mechanism of the current source inverter, has carried on trapezoidal wave segment modulation method's wave decomposition and the current source inverter's PWM control method research ,and has conducted the simulation research using the PSPICE software to the current source inverter and the PWM control rule, have established the theory and the practice foundation for the following hardware and software design ,also the experimental study.This paper carried on showing the present research situation of AC variable frequency speed technology roughly, and proposed the current source inverter's circuit structure, the principle of work, and has analyzed the difference between the current source inverter and the voltage inverter control method. Next, on the understanding of the principle of the TPWM's technology, through reasonable profile turning and folding, obtained the control wave form which can easily realize by monolithic integrated circuit—"trapezoidal half folded segmentation modulation method". Through novel wave form design and programming skill, producing PWM controlling signal using the wave form generator that originally only suitable for the voltage PWM control, we realized the three-phase current source PWM control. The prototype experimental result confirmed this method's feasibility and the fine profile effect. Effectively solved the question of present domestic and foreign lacking specific IC to control current mode inverter.
