Gasket seal is composed of flange, bolt and gasket, which is called flange connection, and the gasket is the most important sealing element of all. Based on the problems that were found when high pressure gasket was used, advantages and disadvantages of all kinds of gaskets in China, and research on sealing mechanism, new high pressure half-self-energizing gasket was gotten by optional regrouping, which had good compression-recovery and sealing performance, could stand pressure, and was fit for pressure that was changing. During the process of structure design of new gasket, the article designed all parts of the gasket by theory analysis, orthogonal design and finite element analysis. By theory analysis, formula which could count stress and deformation were gotten, by orthogonal design, a series of different metal frame were designed, and by ANSYS, the stress and deformation of metal frame were imitated, which chose the best metal frame in theory. During the process of research on new gasket's performance, the article did experimental research on gasket's compression-recovery and sealing performance.By research on compression-recovery performance experiment, it was known that the gasket's compression-recovery performance reached technical demands, the new gasket's compression-recovery performance was the best through compared, the gasket could stand higher pressure, and it could be reused after being on higher pressure. By research on sealing performance experiment, it was known that the gasket's permit leakage rate exceeded technical demands, it could satisfy sealing technical demands when the stress by bolt was only 20MPa under middle-low pressure, its sealing performance was better than the gasket reinforced by corrugate metal sheet through compared, it had better sealing performance under low stress by bolt and self-energizing performance, its leakage rate was changing more slowly with gas pressure's change, and it was fit for pressure that was changing.
