| The calculation method for shear capacity of RC shear wall is one of the problems which have not been solved well until now. The paper discusses different calculation methods for shear capacity of shear wall in the design codes for concrete structures of some countries, such as China, American, British, European, Canadian, Australian and India, and it also compares different calculation models of shear capacity and the major factors considered in different codes. Finally, some proposition is put forward to revise the shear formula in the code of our country.The shear formula in the Chinese code, which is semi-empirical and semi-theoretical, is not supported by rigor theories, and the accuracy of which is retained by experiment program and results. Therefore, based on the previous experimental research, the truss-arch model is adopted in the paper to study the shear mechanism of the yield hinge region of RC shear wall. The effective coefficient of concrete strength with considering the axial load ratio is brought and the influence of some factors on the shear capacity of the shear wall, such as the ultimate rotation of the cross-section of shear wall, the horizontal distribution reinforcement, the truss, the inclination angle of the arch model and others, are analyzed. In addition, the calculation formula for the shear capacity of yield hinge region of RC shear wall is put forward. Theoretical research and test analysis show that the shear formula of the shear wall, which is based on the truss-arch model, is valuable for theoretical analysis and practical application, and can meet practical engineering.In order to do further research on shear capacity of the yield hinge region of RC shear wall and the rotation of yield hinge region of shear wall, the sectional curvature,the length of plastic hinge and the rotation of yield hinge are discussed preliminarily, and the corresponding simplification formula is also provided. |
