The safety and stability of automobile have been effectively improved by the application of Electronic technology and control theory, but how to combine with these electronic control systems will be the lasting aim of active control for chassis. Vehicle dynamical models of automotive ESP (Electronic Stability Program), ASS (Active Suspension System) and 4WS (Four-Wheel Steering) were built in this paper, and the controllers of these three systems were designed respectively. A theoretical analysis of the interaction and coordination of the systems was given, and layered coordination control models were built based on the analysis. The coordination control strategy was made, and layered coordination controllers were designed. The simulations were performed with Matlab/Simulink, and A Hardware-in-the-loop Test for differential braking of ESP was done. The results of simulations and test indicated that the respective controllers of the three systems all improved corresponding performance of vehicle, and the two coordination controllers could improve the driving stability and safety effectively, avoiding the complexity of the centralized control .
