A crankshaft is one part of the crankshaft-bearing system. There is the interaction between crankshaft and bearing when internal combustion engine operates, and the dimension of bearing has corresponding relation with the dimension of crankshaft journal. The effect of crankshaft was not considered in optimization design of crankshaft bearing currently, so only the local optimization result can be gotten. In order to make the optimization result more reasonable and meet the requirement of today internal combustion engine, in this paper, optimization design of bearing for internal combustion engine considering crankshaft strength was presented.In this paper, first of all, the lubrication performance of different sizes of the N485 diesel engine crankshaft bearing was analyzed. Then, the performance of different dimensions of crankshaft bearings was gotten, and a database about different dimensions of the bearing lubrication performance was established.Different dimensions of the engine crankshaft N485 stress is calculated, the different structure of the crankshaft access to dangerous parts of stress is got On this basis, checking for fatigue, crankshaft obtained the security risk factor. Create a different structure size of the crankshaft strength database.Based on linear neural network, the lubrication performance of different dimensions of bearings in the database is extracted as samples for training, structure parameters and the bearing lubrication performance parameters of the relationship between the model is established. Based on BP neural networks, the strength of different sizes of the crankshaft data in the database is extracted as samples for training, the relationship model between structure parameters and the safety factor of crank is established.By PSO, the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine crankshaft bearing is optimized design considering the strength of crankshaft, results showed that: the constraints in meeting the conditions, the total friction power loss of N485 diesel engine crankshaft bearing is reduced 13.31 percent. Compared to the original design, taking into account the strength of the crankshaft bearing crankshaft optimal design, each bearing the minimum film thickness has decreased, the greatest pressure has increased, crankshaft journal reduce the length and diameter, the overall structure of the crankshaft more compact.
