Power customers'concern about the power quality is constantly increasing. The hugeeconomic losses caused by voltage sags have become one of the main culprits resolved in thepower quality problems. Duplex feeders Integrated Power Supply (IPS) is one kind of newequipment which can be used to solve the power quality problems such as voltage sag andtemporary interruption. The equipment consists of AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC converters,controlling circuit and auxiliary units. This paper introduces the principle and structure of IPSat first. Simulation and analysis will be given for different control strategies. The author willalso present the IPS's dynamic response characteristics analysis based on the prototypeexperiments. At the same time the author employ the Interruption Generator (IG) to produce avariety of voltage sag for the test of IPS dynamic characteristics. The experimental resultsindicate that the proposed double closed-loop control strategy can greatly improve thedynamic performance of IPS. And it can effectively solve the power quality problems such asvoltage sag and short-term interruption.
