The Excitation-loss protect is one of the most important protect in generator system, the loss of excitation has huge harm to generator and power system. The Excitation-loss protect usually use asynchronous impedance circle, rotor low voltage and Inverse reactive power protect as main criterion. When the operating condition changes, it may debase the reliability and speed of protect. In this paper, the dynamic course, harm, answer measure and criterion of Excitation-loss protect of generator is analyzed in detail. Dynamic course of loses excitation is analyzed. The wave of voltage, current, power, angle is analyzed in theory. According to different generator operation, protect threshold is reinstalled adapting to each operation circumstance, to make protect has self-adaptation. Loss excitation fault being simulated in generator-infinity model, changes wave can be found. Compared with theory wave, the reason of similarities and differences can be found. According to fault data, new protect configuration can be validated. The result shows that protect criterion configuration are reliable and steady.
