Generator excitation system plays an important role on the voltage control and stability control of the power system. The accuracy of excitation model and parameters directly affect the reliability of the power system stability, in the simulation study of the excitation system, the accuracy of simulation closely related to the accuracy of the excitation model. The use of RTDS is flexible , it has accurate and reliable results and can ensure real-time operation,it also can test the performance of Physical device. By using RTDS as a simulation tool, this text establishes a single infinite system model including the excitation system model, make perturbation step tests to observe the operation and collect the data of input and output for the identification. Then the excitation parameter identification under without noise and noise was carried out in the use of genetic algorithms in Matlab. The results show that single-link identification result is better than the overall identification, the greatest the measurement noise is, the result of identification is more inaccurate. Lastly, the paper concludes with the method of use the average of a stack repeated test data to eliminate the impact of the noise to the simulation results.
