The arch invert cushion pool is a structure for energy-dissipation and riverbed-protection, which exists a large of hydraulic problem to be solved. This thesis has explored the failure mechanism and work mechanism of arch invert cushion pool by experiment research of physical model, which was built according to gravitational and elastic similarity criteria and in combine to a arch invert cushion pool existed. The study includes three part of contents, the first is the study on failure mechanism; the second is the study on the origination and interaction of hydrodynamic load of slabs; the third is the study on combined effect of arch structure and radial anchor-hold of slabs.In the condition of stabilization of abutment, vibration laws and failure process of slabs are obtained by changing clearance width and different contact form of slabs, which confirms that failure mechanism of slab is the effect of the increase and summation of clearance width. In the condition of random vibration of abutment, vibration laws and failure process of slabs and abutments are obtained by study on the stabilization of arch ring, which confirms that the stabilization of abutment is the first important to arch..Neo-type test facility was designed to simulate different extent of water-seal inactivation, interstitial water and different uplift pressure. Transformation law of the pressure acting on the bottom of slab with extent of water-seal inactivation and the scale of uplift pressure is obtained and interaction mechanism of uplift pressure and hydrodynamic pressure is given.Transformation laws of anchorage force and uplift pressure of slab and thrust at arch is obtained by changing extent of water-seal inactivation, thrust at arch and real anchorage force. Interaction mechanism of thrust at arch and radial anchor-hold is given.
