The steel-concrete composite frame is widely used in the multi-storey frame. So far, a great number of researches have been carried out on the simple supported composite beam, continuous composite beam and composite column, etc. However, few researchers have conduct investigation on the integral loading capacity of the composite frame, Moreover, no design methods and standards or codes have been published till now in China.In this dissertation, For example of the multi-storey composite frame, finite element analysis by software ANSYS and SAP2000,steel structure software STS and SATWE8 is employed to study the mechanical properties of the multi-story steel-concrete composite frame. The industrial economic concerns have been compared between the composite frame and the steel frame.(1) Finite element models of both the composite frame and the steel frame have been established by the software ANSYS to investigate the influences of the stiffness on the seismic properties of the composite frame. The results indicate that as the increasing of the stiffness of the composite frame the lateral stiffness of the structure is enhanced and the displacements decreases.(2) The influence of the connection of the frame on the composite properties of the whole frame has been discussed, Design of the connection has been proposed.(3) The industrial economic concerns have been compared between the composite frame and the steel frame. The construction process and the configuration characteristics of the composite frame have been discussed.(4) The composite frame applied to the real project, For example, A simple designing way has been proposed by the tectonic model of composite frame beam.
