How to fast, accurate, safe and low cost examine and evaluate various distortion disease of the road surface, give the true 3D information of the road surface circumstance, science instruction maintenance management, having been the topic that domestic and international highway transportation field research and be anxious to solve .If still follow to use an old method, have already can't adapted the request of highway development. Can't limit in the one dimension or two-dimensional level of analysis and evaluation up, should analyze and evaluate road surface condition from the whole driveways 3D angle.Based on the research for the Geography Information System (GIS), Digital Terrain Model (DTM), Digital Elevation Model (DEM), this paper summarized and compare the method of setting up the digital terrain model. According to the real data, make sure a method which used in this paper. The data that this paper makes use of is intensive cross section 3D data, which is collected by rutting instrument developed by oneself. Establish a method for deal with the mass data; convert the data to apply with setting up road surface terrain model. Make use of the exiting road design software to set up the road surface terrain model. Based on the second development of the design software, make the software apply to the road surface terrain model, realized the road surface three-dimensional visualization. Make use of the data information which provided by the road surface model, read the simulation steer locus into the software, adjust parameter and write a procedure document, extracted the vertical section ground line of the steer locus, it can also extract any ground line of the cross or the vertical section, realized to extract the space curve of the road surface.The paper purpose lies in the method which puts forward a kind of fast establishment of the 3D road surface digital model and extraction of the space curve.
