In the power system, if a bus split, this change should be identified immediately, or network topology error may take place, and it will affect the result of state estimation, and it may bring error to the result, and even make the program emanative. So identification of bus split is the important precondition of guarantee of the exactness of the network topology, and ensure state estimation and other calculation reliably at the same time.This paper use a generalized branch model for reference based on the Innovation Graph state estimation, and add innovation voltage source into breaker branch as warrant of the identification of bus split. This paper use bus-branch model, and analyses the character of innovation and others of buses and branches in the network after bus split. Then according to the character of innovation and others of correlative branches are big after bus split, this paper propose a method of compare of innovation and others of branches to find suspicious buses which may split. Then decide the split form of each suspicious bus, according to the sign of innovation and others of branches. Then judge whether the absolute values of sum of plus or minus innovation of suspicious bus is equal to the absolute values of forecast flow on that breaker before split to identify bus split by the split form of each suspicious bus. This paper try on identification of bus split by IEEE-5 system when have no idea of bus split to identify the bus split assumed in advance, and validate the method of identification brought can identify the abnormal event of bus split.This paper farther discuss the case of bus split and bad data both occur, and propose use link reckoning innovation to identify bad data and bus split instead of innovation aim at the character of it cannot identify bad data only use innovation of branches. This paper use IEEE-30 system to calculate, and validate the validity of this bus split identification method when bus split and bad data occur at the same time.This paper research on the practical electrical network of Liaoning according to this bus split identification method. This paper calculate and identify branch topology error and bus split when branch topology error and bus split occur at the same time in the electrical network.
