Gain Scheduling-Based Design Of Aerodynamic And Side Jet Compound Control Law

For dealing with the nonlinearity and meeting the response time requirement of air defense intercept missile system with side jets, the design of aerodynamic and side-jet compound control law using gain scheduling method is investigated. The main researches are as follows:I. Construction of intercept missile model.The aerodynamic forces and moments, and the side jet thrusts and moments are analyzed respectively, based on the analyses, the nonlinear model of intercept missile with side jet is constructed, then, linearized around different operating points, and which leads to the LPV.II. Design of compound control law based on gain scheduling method.The effects of aerodynamic and side jet on the system responses are compared, and based on the comparison results, the whole control strategy is proposed, then, according to the characteristics of LPV model, the optimal aerodynamic controller is designed based on gain scheduling. Then, the control law of side jet and the switching condition are designed.III. Design of compound control system based on time optimization.To meet the demand of establishing a large overload in a short time in terminal guidance, the whole control strategy is analyzed, and the transient response of system is divided into three phases, then, based time optimizing method, the compound side jet and aerodynamic control laws are designed.IV. Simulation and analyses of the system.To validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, the simulation model is constructed using Matlab Simulink, based on side jet and aerodynamic control laws and the designed switching conditions. The simulation results show that the application of side jet control to traditional missiles can effectively shorten the response time, and improve maneuvering ability of missile.
