Stability appraisal and supporting design on the layered rock foundation pit are the big difficult problems in GuiZhou Geotechnical Engineering. In this article, taking the layered rock foundation as research object, the methods of mechanics calculation and numerical simulation analysis is used together to study the excavation theory of the layered rock foundation pits. The obtained achievements are listed as follow:1. Describing the mechanical properties of layered intrusion and discussing its main affecting factors to the stability of the layered intrusions in detail.2. According the different excavation angle of rock foundation pit, the relationship between the strike of excavation and strata, the relationship between excavation angle and strata angle, divides the layered rock foundation pit into different types.3. By analyzing the deformation and failure mechanical process of layered intrusion, summarizes the failure modes of the layered rock foundation pit and its application scope.4. Using mechanics analytical method, analyze and calculate the stability of the layered rock foundation pit, when it occurs planar sliding, arc sliding, wedge slidingt, toppling failure and so on.5. Theory analysis is done about how strata thickness and dip angle influence critical depth of strata excavation be calculated. Meanwhile, discussing the relationship between thickness, dip angle and excavating depth.6. Using blocking theory to demonstrate relationship between excavating direction and angle.7. Combing engineering project, study the stability of the Layered rock foundation pit.This article roundly studies mechanical properties of interlaminar structural planes, failure mode, stability appraisal method, eacavation and supporting theory of the layered rock foundation pit. The preliminary achievement has significant theoretical meaning, practical meaning and practical significance for excavation theory of layered rock foundation pit.
