SINS—Strapdown Inertial Navigation System, is a kind of INS-Inertial Navigation System. Compared to INS, SINS is smaller in size, lighter in weight, more reliability and cheaper, so SINS tend to be the direction of INS. In recent years, with inertial components accuracy increasing continuously and price reducing, especially the development of Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMs) gyroscope made it full of hope in applying in navigation. It's a cheap, efficient and convenient plan using the MEMs sensors with virtual instrumentation software, and is suitable for university laboratory building. The plan also provides the direction of inertial system model development in futures. The dissertation first elaborated the principle of SINS, and designed vessel simulation subsystem, inertial components simul-subsystem and SINS simul-subsystem in Matlab /Simulink model. Using the models, the analysis in quantity and quality is made in choosing attitude updating algorithm and giving the system position accuracy. Beginning with the producing source of error, classify analyzing is made in error transmitting of SINS. In the basis of error analysis, the classical initial alignment methods and methods based on modern control theory is studied deeply, and the method is test in simulation model. Finally, based on MEMs inertial components, using virtual instrumentation software, LabVIEW, the system realized the data acquisition and analyzed the result with giving the conclusion.
